Raiding GM's What Loot System do you use
Hi,
My guild is a raiding guild and has gotten deeper and deeper into content both pre patch and post patch. Post patch we have gotten aggressive on T6 content. After the last hyjal raid one of my officers brought up the issue that we need to address the current loot system we use. You see in the past we have been a close group and have stuck to the /roll need before greed system. And although some of our tenured raiders have lost rolls and missed out on loot. They have done so on a basis that has been fair to everyone. This system has also lead to the growth of our guild. While many guilds are running on a "loot council" or "DKP" system which the average player seems to feels slighted in some way.
Also, I have heard rumor that when the expansion comes out that tier pieces are no longer going to be class specific. This too creates a problem. Many in the guild feel that in order to progress that the first tier pieces need to go to tanks and healers to progress due to the new fatigue system.
The question I put out is what loot system does your guild use and what do you feel are the pros and cons of the system. I have been tossing around in my head a +to roll system that a player will earn a bonus to roll based on performance and will be able to state prior to a boss fight that they intend to use said points to add to roll no matter what the roll is (i.e. player states, " I'm adding my points of +25 to my roll off boss drops from Rage"....player rolls 30 adds +25 = true roll 55). Tell me what everyone thinks I am stuck between being fair to occasional raiders and keeping my tenured raiders happy.)
