BEFORE YOU PANIC!
Read the three paragraphs below carefully. This macro will NOT work if you don’t have it set up exactly right. The author cannot take time to chase down file path issues for everyone who has not installed EQ2 into its default directory.
If you have Everquest II and/or this macro NOT installed in their default locations.

If you have not installed this macro in the default location (c:\EQ2-TSBot\) and/or you have not installed EQ2 into its default location (C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II) then you will need to load up the Initializers.inc file that is in the includes subfolder and change lines 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 as needed.
If you have Everquest II installed somewhere other than the default location.
Copy the EQ2-TSBot_UI folder into your ‘\Everquest II\Ui’ folder and copy eq2.ini into ‘\Everquest II’
If you have both Everquest II and this macro in their default locations.
Run Setup.bat (You may need to run this twice in order for it to copy the files, if you don’t get asked if you want to overwrite the files in your EQ2-TSBot folder then you might try running it again).
Log into EverQuest2 in window mode.
Place your character in front of the device that you would like to use and hit the tab key to target the the device (make sure it is the device that you need though). Open EQ2-TSBot_5.4.0.mac in ACTools and click start or hit F2 then answer the prompts.
If you are running a Windows Vista operating system (64-bit) with UAC enabled.
Do all of the above. Bear in mind that the default location for everquest in Vista is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest II) , so you need to adjust the lines in Initializers.inc as stated above. Dont use Everquest2 in fullscreen mode , but just maximize the window and leave it like that. Make sure you run both the Color Bar Finder program as well as ACTool as an administrator (right click shortcut and select 'run as administrator').
Once you have all of your programs installed properly, begin here:
1. Click Start
2. Popup box appears asking “Reuse the previous session’s recipes?”
- a. Click No unless you are continuing from a previous crafting session and will be using the same recipes, quantities and qualities.
3. The GUI appears (previous users of this macro will immediately notice the size difference and the use of tabs in the GUI now):
4. This is the screen where you select which skill and recipes to use for your crafting session.
5. Select an appropriate technique by clicking one of the icons across the top of the GUI. The name of the technique chosen will appear in the target brackets at the top left of the text area, and any recipes your character knows will be displayed in the LEFT HAND text area.
6. DOUBLE CLICK a recipe to choose it, and you will notice that it now shows up in the RIGHT HAND text area. If you need to deselect a recipe, double click it’s name in the RH text area.
7. The settings tab or page 2 has the settings that control what the macro does.
8. If you want the program to camp your character out when finished crafting then check the “Camp out” box.
9. If you want the macro to shut down your pc when it is done then check the “Shut PC down” box.
10. If you want the program to temporarily stop spamming when it needs to counter a reaction, reducing your chances of taking damage while crafting, uncheck the “Spam ignores counters” box.
11. If you want the macro to log to a logfile then check this box. When you check it a box will open asking you for a filename (you may put it anywhere and the macro will use your selection).
12. Leave the Keyrate set at the default of 60. It may seem slow to the power crafters, but it will
greatly reduce the number of screw-ups the macro makes in entering text to the game. (Anything below 40 is just asking for trouble, even on a low-lag server.)
13. Set the keys you want to spam in Spam key #1, #2, and #3 boxes. Valid spam keys are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. If you don’t want to spam any keys do NOT use 0 (zero) but instead just leave it blank.
14. Enter the “Wait between combines” value. 3 is the default. You may decide to set it higher to recoup power lost during a combine, or lower it to speed things along if you’re not running out of power as you craft.
15. Enter the “Spam key frequency”, keeping in mind that the lowest the game will handle is 3. This is the number of seconds that the program will use as the interval in spamming the spam keys selected.
16. Enter which hotkey you have assigned (in the game) to bring up the Recipe book using the Recipebook Hotkey option (default is N).
17. To change how often TSBot scans for tradeskill events you can use the Counter Checking Delay slider. Default is 1 second but you may wish to slide it down if it seems to miss often (some misses are natural
and cannot be helped).
18. Recipe Repeat Delay is how long the macro is to wait between crafting the same item. This will help with power regeneration among other things and its default setting is 125ms.
19. Click Delay is how long to wait after it clicks the Begin, Repeat, or Stop buttons and when it checks to see if the click went through. This slider is part of the lag detector section of the
macro, and 125ms (250ms is the default) is the minimum the slider will go. 3 seconds is the max. At the 250ms notch we have 7 seconds before a change that doesn’t occur in the Begin, and Repeat buttons is reported as too much lag and the macro will stop. At 3 seconds that increases to 1 minute and 2 seconds. The formula is (20 * (slider+100)) milliseconds as the max lag timeout.
This slider also helps with clicking too fast and making your components go into a reserved state. So, this slider is VERY important to tweak to get the best performance out of the macro for your machine and connection.
If you set this value too high you might miss a TS event as the game will have you crafting but the macro will still be waiting in the lag detection section.
20. If you’re having trouble locating a recipe for a skill, even though the lists are sorted alphabetically or by level, you may use the filter option. Enter the lowest level you wish to see and the list will be filtered.
21. You may search for a recipe as well using the “Search for a recipe” box by entering as much of the name as you can remember. If it doesn’t find it an error message will be shown.
- a. the cs box is for case sensitive searches.
- b. the em box is for exact matches only.
- c. Example of using the cm and/or em boxes in your searches: Neither CS or EM is selected and you search for tea. The response will be, using the recipes file I have yours may differ, Black Tea (notice the case didn’t matter for Tea). Select CS and the match for tea will be Deer Steak (notice the lowercase tea in steak). Now select EM and you will receive no matches (unless you have a recipe for just Tea or tea). Now select CS and EM and you will not have a match (unless you have a recipe for just tea).
22. If you wish to reuse your recipes from the last worked session you may do so using the “Load previous recipes file” button.
23. The Session Settings button is for loading, saving, and deleting of sessions. Think of sessions as nothing more than your current settings and your selected recipes (including quantity and quality) saved to the hard drive for later retrieval. To use it you should set up your settings how you like them for the recipes you are about to select. Once you have done that then select the recipes you want for this session. Go to tab 3 by clicking ok and set up your quantity and quality of the recipes and when done just click the back button. Now back on tab 2 you just click the Session Settings button and save them (using a path and name of your choosing). The rest of the Session Settings options are self explanatory.
24. You may now sort the recipes on Tab 1 by Name or by Level.
25. Tell the macro how to counter using the “Counter for” selections.
26. Once the previous steps are completed, click OK and the third GUI screen will appear.

27. Verify you have selected the recipes in the proper order, and choose the quantity and quality to make them to by double clicking in their respective columns.
28. Click OK again or BACK if you forgot a setting.
Remember: If you move your mouse to the far right side of the screen it will pause the macro and you will probably have to start everything over.
Enjoy!
